Outside the Church
As you leave the church, turn around and see the well worn coat of arms above the gate and the gargoyles at either side of the porch.
In front of you is the base of an ancient churchyard cross. When you walk around the tower, look at the rough stones used in the lower sections and see the sundial near the corner.
… although the church is called ‘God’s House’, God is not confined within these walls. You will find signs of him all around you as you go through daily life – in nature, in other people, in books, on television, in your own heart.
“The God who made the world and everything in it is the Lord of heaven and earth and does not live in temples built by hand … God did this so that men would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from each one of us.” Acts 17 v24,
